Step by step
- First pick the photos you want in the listing, then drop them all together. On this page only “License plates” is ticked, faces are left alone.
- Wait until every photo in the gallery shows its number of hits. The first photo takes a little longer because the detection is loaded first.
- Go through the photos one by one. On the front and rear views in particular, a green frame should sit exactly over the plate.
- If a frame is missing, drag a rectangle over the plate yourself. If the detection marked something that isn't a plate, such as a sticker or a sign on a wall, tap the frame and it turns red.
- Choose under “Style” how the plate should look, and finally download all photos with “Download all as ZIP”.
What you can use it for
- Selling a car privately: A listing quickly needs twenty photos from every side. Front and rear show the plate – this saves you editing each picture by hand.
- Motorbike, camper van or trailer: Other vehicles have plates in the photos too. Motorbike plates are closer to square; check especially carefully that the frame fits, and draw one yourself if needed.
- Photos of registration papers or service book: Buyers often ask for documents. The detection looks for number plates, not for text in documents; cover numbers, names and address with rectangles you draw yourself.
- Photos from car meets and shows: If you publish pictures of other people's cars from an event, you can hide their plates first, even many vehicles in one photo.
How it works
- Drop all photos of the car at once.
- The AI finds the plate on every image and pixelates it.
- Click through quickly and download everything as a ZIP.
If a plate is missed, for example because it is very small or at an angle, just drag a rectangle over it. Other cars in the background are detected too.
Why hide the plate?
It isn't required. Many sellers hide it anyway so nobody copies it or draws conclusions about them from the car. Your photos are not uploaded for this – everything happens in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with lots of photos?
Yes. Drop all 20 or 30 photos at once. They are processed one after another and downloaded as a ZIP at the end.
Are faces blurred too?
On this page only plates. If you want to hide faces as well, tick “Faces” on the left.
Does it work with a close-up of the rear?
Yes. Even when the plate fills a large part of the image, it is usually detected. If the frame doesn't fit, drag a rectangle over it yourself.
Which style suits a car listing?
That's a matter of taste. Pixelation looks discreet, the black bar makes it clear something was hidden on purpose. “Strength” makes the pixels coarser or finer.
What about reflections in paint or windows?
The AI doesn't always detect a reflected plate. If it's readable, cover it with a rectangle.
What if people are in the photos too?
Also tick “Faces”. The photos are then recalculated with both detections.
The detection marked the wrong area. What now?
Tap it. The frame turns red and the area stays visible in the result.
