Convert HEIC to JPG

Convert iPhone photos to JPG or PNG so every website and every program accepts them. Many photos at once.

Drop iPhone photos here

or tap to choose. Several files at once.

Choose files

Step by step

  1. Drag HEIC files into the box or tap it to choose them. You can add many photos at once, even mixed with JPG or PNG files.
  2. Choose JPG or PNG under “Output format”.
  3. For JPG, set the “Quality” slider; 92 % is the default. PNG has no slider because it is lossless.
  4. Tap “Convert”. The conversion module loads with the first HEIC photo, which can take a moment. The status line shows which file is being processed.
  5. Download the photos one by one or save them together with “Download all as ZIP”.

What you can use it for

  • Opening photos on a Windows PC: Without a suitable extension, Windows often won't display HEIC files. As JPG they open in the photo viewer and in every image program.
  • Images for print services and photo books: If you want to print iPhone photos, JPG is the safe choice. At high quality, enough detail is kept for the print.
  • Photos for Android users and older devices: Not every device and app displays HEIC reliably. As JPG, the pictures reach every recipient without questions.
  • Image editing and presentations: Older image editors and office programs refuse HEIC. After converting, the photos can be inserted and edited as usual.

Why HEIC?

Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. It saves storage, but many upload forms, government portals and older programs only accept JPG or PNG.

How it works

  1. Drop or choose your photos.
  2. Choose JPG or PNG.
  3. Tap “Convert” and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Is converting really free?

Yes, without an account and without a limit on the number of files.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser. Your photos stay on your device.

JPG or PNG?

JPG is smaller and accepted everywhere. PNG is lossless but much larger.

Can I switch my iPhone to JPG?

Yes: Settings, Camera, Formats, “Most Compatible”. Your iPhone then saves new photos as JPG.

Can I make the photos smaller at the same time?

Not in this tool, which only changes the format. For a single photo you can carry on directly via “Continue with …” and “Compress / convert”. The compression tool also accepts HEIC itself.

Why is there no preview in the list?

Browsers usually can't display HEIC directly, so these files show no thumbnail. It makes no difference to the result.

Why is the JPG larger than the HEIC?

HEIC compresses more efficiently than JPG. At high quality the JPG is therefore often larger than the original. Use the “Quality” slider to make the file smaller.

What about Live Photos?

The still image inside the HEIC file is converted. The short video clip of a Live Photo is a separate file and is not included.

Are the capture date and location kept?

No, the converted image contains no camera data. If you need the capture date, for example to sort by time, keep the originals as well.

What happens to JPG files I drop in too?

They are accepted as well and saved again in the chosen output format. Handy when a folder from an iPhone contains a mix of HEIC and JPG.
